A number of companies conveying sound signals through Internet gave a news conference Monday to voice alarm at the government’s attitude toward them.

IPInternet phone company’s representatives said, the government had decided recent week at its closed-door extraordinary session to give ArmenTel telecommunication company monopoly to convey sound signals.

ArmenTel is thought to gain tremendous profit from that by raising per-minute price from 100 to 400 or 500 drams while 3,000 people will become jobless, they said.

The companies’ representatives also said they had learned from reliable sources that trade and economy minister Karen Chshmarityan and communication and transport minister Andranik Manukyan was opposed to the government decision.
