A1+ Action Started
Today an action demanding open, transparent and public tender for free frequencies started at the building of A1+ TV Company.
Journalists, heads of journalist organizations and representatives of public organizations, political figures and ordinary citizens took part in the procession accompanied by the police of the Kentron district headed by police chief Hovik Tamanyan. The latter feeling himself the master of the situation he ordered the marchers to pass to the pavement. However the demonstrators continued their way along the road till the monument to Komitas situated in the park adjacent to the Opera House. At that Tamanyan ordered the policemen to take the car belonging to A1+ to the penalty ground. However thanks to the presence of the journalists and lawyers the car with loud-speaker reached the destination. During the small rally at the monument to Komitas editor-in-chief of Aravot daily Aram Abrahamyan, human rights activist Avetik Ishkhanyan, jurist Vardan Poghosyan, chairman of the People's Part of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan, one of the action inititors Isabella Sargsyan as well as member of Zharangutyun (Heritage) party Anahit Bashkhyan delivered speeches.
The collection of signatures for conduction a tender for frequencies has started and will last 10 days.
Young people took out a guitar and began singing. In the course of the action the policemen and representatives of national security service attentively watched and filmed the developments
Upon completion of the action Hovik Tamanyan's order was put into execution and the A1+'s car was taken to the penalty grouns.
To note, the Yerevan city Administration was aware of the action planned.
