Yet more families to be ousted from their homes in the Nor Nork community
of Yerevan
By Tamar Palandjian, U.S. Fulbright Scholar to Armenia
05 October 2005
Gathered in front of the Ministry of Justice in Yerevan Kentron were residents of Aygegordzakan Street to protest against the
government’s decision to oust them from their homes for development of this
neighborhood. This is yet another neighborhood which has become a victim of the
government’s plans for economic development and private investment in real
estate property in Yerevan. Biuzand Street is a recent example of the government
displacing the citizens from their homes and not providing them with accurate
compensation.
