One year ago, on May 12, 2007, Levon Gulyan died while he was in the Police
Headquarters in Yerevan, where he was invited to testify as a witness of a
murder case.



On May 12 Levon Gulyan’s relatives and representatives of several human rights
NGOs organized the action which took place on the Republic square. Initially it
was meant to move towards the Police Headquarters building where the tragedy has
happened, however the authorities didn’t allow the procession. So the action
turned to be a standing action and people lighted candles in memory of Levon Gulian.
