Arayik Melkumyan’s disability category is restored

The disability category of Arayik Melkumyan, a participant of Kharabagh war and one of the commanders of "Aramo" squad, is restored after two months of medical examinations and treatments in various medical institutions.
To remind, on December 7, 2011, we touched upon the issue that RA Agency of Medical and Social Expertise did not consider disabled the participant of Kharabagh war, who used to have a disability category for years, telling him: "You should have been cured. Why haven't you turned to doctor?"
Karine Harutyunyan, who has been his neurologist for three years, once again mentioned in his medical reference that Melkumyan's disease left permanent effects, however the committee of Medical and Social Expertise did not take that fact into consideration and did not recognize him disabled. The director of RA Agency of Medical and Social Expertise Misha Vanyan claims that actually, Melkumyan cannot be recognized disabled.
Our publication has repeatedly addressed this issue, as a result RA Ministry of Defense and RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs became interested in the matter. The RA Minster of Labor and Social Affairs Arthur Grigoryan assigned his employees to carry out inspections.
Melkumyan received the treatment, which he had never received because the employees of the district policlinic did not take due care. The doctors of the district policlinic did not send him to Nubarashen psychiatric hospital.
After Minister's mediation A. Melkumyan received a treatment lasting more than 10 days in the psychiatric hospital of Nubarashen. And the data received from the hospital also confirmed that Melkumyan has contusion with permanent effects and he must receive a disability category.
What a pity, that we need Minister's petition in order to implement the functions prescribed by law (provided by law) by law, because Arayik Melkumyan is not the only disabled person who faces this problem.
We express our gratitude to all those people who supported us in solving this problem.
