Prosecution against young activists of Armenian National Congress Tigran Arakelyan, Herbert Gevorgyan and Sahak Muradyan is dropped and they are acquitted for of corpus delicti.

Attorney Varduhi Elbakyan had entered a protest to the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts' court. Judge Armen Khachatryan made a decision on April 15 to satisfy attorney's protest.

During the well-known events of July 1, 2009 a group of plainclothes policemen from the Kentron District Police attacked and beat activists distributing leaflets announcing a rally. Instead of prosecuting attackers legal proceedings were instituted against the youth by Article 258, Part 3 of Criminal Code ("hooliganism"). Tigran Arakelyan was held in detention by those false charges for about 4 months.
