From June 27, 2011 Human Rights Defender of Armenia is endorsed with a new authority to propose 3 out of 7 members of the RA Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

With the view of ensuring transparency of the process as well as giving  an opportunity for a wider scope of candidates be selected,  Human Rights Defender decides to propose a member of the CEC in the result of a public competition. 

By July 10, 2011 candidates selected in the result of the competition should be presented by the Defender for the approval of the President of the Republic.
