Doctors did not approve the “diagnose” of the police

Yervand Karapetyan, who was brought to Nork-Marash regional police station and then to Psychiatric hospital of Nork, was released at around 6:00 pm. The police applied to Psychiatric hospital with a letter to accept Yervand Karapetyan to “receive a treatment”.

The doctors of the Psychiatric hospital after talking to Yervand and the policemen wondered why the policemen deduced that he had mental disorders. “Well, there was an alarm and we had to check” explained one of the policemen who refused to introduce himself.

The commission of the doctors which consisted of three people wrote a conclusion that they do not see any symptom of mental disorder and Yervand Karapetyan was not dangerous for society. Then the policemen took that paper to make a copy and didn’t bring back. Both the conclusion written by the doctors and the document on the basis of which Y. Karapetyan was sent to Psychiatric hospital “disappeared.”

After two hours when a group of human rights activists gathered in the Psychiatric hospital set up a clamor, the lost conclusion “appeared” and Lieutenant Colonel Hakobyan said Yervand Karapetyan could go home. He did not give him the copy of the conclusion made by the doctors and even he didn’t allow him to read it. “You will apply to the police, they will give it, and you will be able to look through it” said Lieutenant Colonel and left.
