On May 10 in the “Abovyan” penitentiary institution fnished 3rd hairdressing course organized for the female convicts who are preparing to be released. On the graduation day was held the handing out of the certificates to those participants of the course who had successfully completed the course. The representatives of the CSI, “Abovyan” penitentiary institution and “Center for Legal Education and Implementation of Rehabilitation Programs” took part in the event.

Almost 30 female convicts had participated in the 3 previous hairdressing courses initiated and successfully implemented by the CSI.

The program is aimed to support the women in the closed institutions to acquire profession and get a job and stable income after serving the term.

The training space has been repaired and furnished by CSI in cooperation with the administration of the institution. It has all the necessary equipment, materials and supplies.

After the successful completion of the program CSI is planning to hand over the vocational room to the state institutions for further exploitation in this way trying to ensure the continuity of the vocational trainings for the female convicts.
