Yanis Sarkisov who is accused of killing Zaruhi Petrosyan is on a hunger-strike from February 17. In this way he appeals against the decision made by the Court of Appeal.

This was reported to www.hra.am by the Head of the Penitentiary Department of the RA Ministry of Justice Gor Ghlechyan, who said that Sarkisov is in a separate cell and under the control of their psychologists.

To remind, on December 27 the RA Court of Criminal Appeal dismissed Yanis Sarkosov's appeal who is accused of killing his 20-year-old wife Zaruhi Petrosyan and upheld the verdict made by the Court of First Instance.

On October 14 the Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor decided to plead Yanis Sarkisov guilty according to Article 112.2.14 of the RA Criminal Code (cause of injury to health which negligently caused death) and sentenced him to 10-year imprisonment according to the maximum  punishment of the Article.

Now Sarkisov demanded to make an acquittal judgment mentioning that his wife took poison and committed suicide because of her extramarital affairs.
