The number of signatures collected in protest against the Draft Amendments to the RA Law on Non-Governmental Organizations doubled. This information was spread by the Ecolur informational center today.

The campaign on calling the draft amendments to the RA Law on Non-Governmental Organizations back is continued.  The Civil Development and Partnership Foundation (CDPF) informed Ecolur that the protest letter has been signed by 267 NGOs from Yerevan and marzes.  In addition, 50 individuals decided to support the campaign.

The discussion of the draft is conducted in various groups of civil society. On January 22, at CDPF office a meeting of the initiative group was held with participation of representatives of different networks, unions and foundations. On January 26, this issue was discussed by the NGOs of the Environmental NGO Coalition at the Caucasus Regional Environmental Center.

The Ministry of Justice promised to present the new version of the draft amendments to the CDPF on January 28.  Nevertheless, as of February 3 the documents were not sent, and as the Ministry explained they are going to create a whole package of amendments also in other related laws. NGOs do not concede and continue the protest campaign on calling back the draft law.
