Jobs: Highest Number of Employees Found in Public Service Corporations

The Electric Network of Armenia leads the country in providing jobs, according to figures just released by the State Revenues Committee, which show that the network employs 7,602.

Second and third positions in the amount of employees are also held by public service corporations, by ArmRosgazprom (5,993 employees) and the South Caucasus Railway (4,332 employees). 

In the domain of privately-owned companies, communications provider ArmenTel leads the way with 3,210 employees, followed closely by Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine (3,138).

Other notables include: Haypost (3,127), Nairit (3,022), K-Telcom (1,868), ArmWaterSewerage (1,842) and the Armenian nuclear-power plant (NPP) (1,774). 

The largest employee in the food-sales business is Star supermarket (1,275), the largest employer among banks is Ardshininvestbank (1,203), while the leading employer among educational institutions is the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University (801).
