In the central streets of Yerevan garbage cans were placed for sorting the garbage. However, so far it is a formality. 

There are no garbage processing factories in Armenia. Head of the Kentron administrative district of Yerevan Gagik Gyanjumyan thinks that within the frames of the tender announced by the Municipality of Yerevan this year  a structure dealing with the garbage processing will appear. Until that, people will see marked garbage cans and get used to the fact that the garbage should be sorted.

Today, either the garbage cans are placed in the wrong direction or people habitually throw the garbage anywhere.
