NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION
Transport Ministry is Open for Cooperation (video)

On 4th of October the civil initiative "Adequate Transportation" organized protest in front of the Ministry of Transportation demanding the minister's resignation.
The participants protested against the transportation low service, bad state of roads, old busses, etc. Since they had been complaining about these things for a long time, but the problems remained unsolved, it resulted in the young people demanding resignation of the minister.
The group intended to transfer the letter of the minister's resignation to him by casting it into the post-box of the ministry, however, not only the doors of the ministry, but also the doors of the Post Office next door were closed. As a result, many citizens also couldn't enter the Post Office.
When the majority of the protesters had left, the ministry eventually opened its doors and one of the participants was allowed to enter the building for negotiations. "The Spokesman of the Ministry of Transportation Petros Demirchyan said that as a result of the activities of this civil initiative, as well as the hotline, the companies serving the routes of Shirak, Armavir, Aragatsotn and Lori regions got warning".
Petros Demirchyan also announced that they are always ready to cooperate with such civil initiatives.
The activists of the ''Adequate transporation'' civil initiative announced that they will continue being the watch dog of the transportation sphere.
