On the 10th of December the Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan received the parents of the soldier Tigran Ohanjanyan who died in unknown circumstances in the military unit of Vardenis. The minister listened to their observations connected with the investigation.

The minister authorized the Head of the Investigative Service of the RA Ministry of Defense Armen Harutyunyan to scrupulously study the observations of the Ohanjanyans and present the results by the end of January 2012. This was informed to www.hra.am by the Department of Information of the Investigative Service of the RA Ministry of Defense.

The official version of the death of soldier Tigran Ohanjanyan who died in 2007 in the Karchaghbyur military unit of Vardenis, is electrocution. This only version circulated by the Investigative body already for 5 years has been twice refuted.

The first time this version was refuted was in 2009 by the “National Bureau of Expertises” State Non-Profit Structure.

Recently the results of new electro-technical expertise appointed on the 4th of April by the case investigator Levon Petrosyan were received. According to the conclusion of 4 experts of Radiophysics Research Institute “the transition of the voltage from network to antenna was impossible in case of failure or damage of any of the high voltage blocks of the station”.

According to the results of the expertise, R-419 sub-block cannot produce 180 V tension therefore it cannot become the reason for electrocution. The experts asked to be provided with R-419 radio-electric device and also mediated for organizing inspection of the area.

However, according to Tigran Ohanjanyan’s father Suren Ohanjanyan the device wasn’t there any longer, and the experts fulfilled their expertise on another device of the same type.

“They delayed the case for distorting the results of the expertise, but they couldn’t. Physics has one rule and the experts couldn’t write something else”, said Tigran’s father Suren Ohanjanyan.

He also told www.hra.am that on his demand the case investigator Levon Petrosyan, prosecutor supervising the legality of the investigation Karen Harutyunyan and the Head of the Investigative Service of the RA Ministry of Defense Armen Harutyunyan were also present at the meeting with the Minister.

“I asked the questions I wanted, but not only they didn’t answer, but also insisted on their version and continue supporting the version of electrocution, since they are ordered to do so”, said Ohanjanyan.

According to Suren Ohanjanyan, Minister ordered at their presence to study the case and report to him in short period.
