NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION
They hindered the journalist from working
Since 10 am gatherings of people is
noticed in the Davitashen administrative district N 5-11 polling station. The
matter is that the residents of the constituency were encouraged to vote by 11
am, so as to provide a certain number of votes in the polling station, the
residents told aravot.am. One of young men snatched my mobile phone, while I
was taking pictures of the gatherings, thus preventing me to fulfill my duties
as journalist. The young man did not introduce himself, did not say if he is
observer, proxy, or someone else, but he was in the polling station all the
time.
After a while the young man returned my
mobile phone, but, however, he did not introduce himself, we tried to find out
that from his badge, but he covered it with his hand and did not let us see.
Susanna Barkhudaryan, a member of Heritage
political fraction and observer of the Fund Against Violation of Law turned to
a police officer asking to disperse the crowd, but the latter answered that he
cannot do that until the chairman of the commission asks.
Susanna Baghdasaryan, who is also a voter
of the same polling station, took the ballot to enter the polling booth, but
when she noticed the gathered young people, she approached them with the ballot
in her hands. This was noticed by the RPA (Republican Party of Armenia) proxy,
who raised a noise on the incidents, accusing her of breaking the law. The
commission produced a report on this. Mrs. Susanna justified herself saying
that she did not come out with the ballot in her hands on purpose and she was
just trying to prevent the gathering.
