On September 5, 2017 the Civil Society Institute NGO in cooperation with the State Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia organized a training session for the probation officers in Vanadzor, Lori region.

The half day training was aimed at mastering the features of the Risks and Needs Assessment electronic tool (RNA), the specificities of the work with the tool, as well as practical training on the use of the tool. Real life cases of different nature were used during the training.

The training was held in the framework of the pilot project launched by the Ministry of Justice to find out the compliance of the tool with the goals, tasks and problems of the State Probation Service. The pilot project is carried out in the capital Yerevan and Lori region and will last until October.

All the state officials of the Lori Regional department of the Probation Service took part in the training and made their observations and valuable inputs that will be taken into account in the final version of RNA tool.

The training was organized by the CSI with financial support of the UN Democracy Fund in the framework of the “Toward a Probation Service in Armenia” project.
