IP Services Vs Government Decision

Besides one-day-long strike, companies rendering Internet phone services, held a
protest action near Parliament building.
Hundreds of employees of about 200 managing establishments doing IP service have
assembled at Demirchyan Street entrance of Parliament.
They were holding placards with the following expressions on: “Government has
turned off telephone, so try later, please!”, “Justice is inaccessible or it is
beyond the society”, “Is honor beyond the reach?” etc.

Telecom Deal Not Yet Sealed By ArmenTel Owner

The Greek owner of Armenia’s ArmenTel telecommunications monopoly has still not
formally approved a controversial compromise agreement to resolve its
long-running dispute with the Armenian government, thrusting its implementation
into doubt, it emerged on Monday.

Council Of Europe Envoy Urges Faster Reform In Armenia

A high-ranking representative of the Council of Europe urged the Armenian
authorities on Monday to redouble their efforts to honor political commitments
that earned Armenia membership in the respected human rights organization nearly
four years ago.
Ambassador Roland Wegener, a Strasbourg-based German diplomat representing the
Council’s governing Committee of Ministers, singled out the promised reform of
Armenia’s constitution, judicial system and electoral legislation.

Round-Table on the Problems of Former Prisoners of War

On November 13, in Stepanakert, the Karabakh non-governmental organization
"Center of Civil Initiatives" (CCI) held a 'round-table' called "The Problem of
the Adaptation, Social Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Former Prisonersof
War and Hostages into the Society in the Context of the Karabakh Conflict".
Leaders of the NKR non-governmental organizations, representatives of the
Parliament and Government, a priest, journalists, psychologists, lawyers,
sociologists, and former prisoners of war took part in the 'round-table'.
