The Criminal Case Instituted
General Office of Prosecutor released a statement, under which a criminal case was instituted over burning “Niva” car belonging to “The Armenian Times” Daily. Let’s remind that the car was burnt down on November 22, at 8:40 PM near the editorial office.
The release explains instituting the criminal case only 10 days after the incident the following way: “After receiving opinion of a commission of experts”.
Before the decision of experts “The Armenian Times” periodically informed in the publications that Centre Police Department refuses bringing in a criminal case reasoning that the car has been “self-incinerated” because of defect. But there is another opinion in expert’s paper: “Under the conclusion of fire and technical complex examination, the open fire source was the cause for car explosion”.
The criminal case was instituted by the 1st and 2nd planks of N 185 article of Armenian Criminal Code /on purpose destruction of a property or harming by incineration/.
Investigation Department of Yerevan Police holds the preliminary inquest.
