Today the residents of the Northern and Main Avenues, tenants of the Dalma gardens and a number of citizens protesting against compulsory receiving of social cards gathered at the government building.

“For two years already we have been claiming for justice – flat or correspondent compensation. We are humiliated and offended because of incapability to protect our rights,” the action participants say.

Today as usual the protesters received no attention. No single government member came out to listen to them. “People are evicted from their houses. When they come back they see the houses ruined. We united to struggle against the illegal power of Robert Kocharyan and Serge Sargsyan. The nation but not two persons should be the owners of the country. If the wave of discontent arouses we cannot foretell consequences. Let the leadership hand in the resignation now otherwise they will not have time to do it later,” the demonstrators say.

At the moment representatives of the 18+8 format arrived at the scene to call for boycotting the referendum on constitutional amendments.

When some of the protesters attempted to spread the leaflets with Heritage party leader Raffi K. Hovannisian’s appeal informing of the date and place of the ”civic congress” opening, the policemen confiscated the whole package of leaflets.

Some time later the demonstrators made for the UN Yerevan Office where 54-year old resident of Amiryan street, whose house was destroyed lately, is continuing his hunger strike. To note, today Red Cross representatives came to the scene to persuade Gagik Sargsyan to stop the strike.
