On September 14, 2006 during the UN Treaty Event Mr. Gagik Yeganian,
Acting Head of the Migration Agency of the Ministry of Territorial Administration of the Republic of Armenia deposited ratification of the Optional Protocol to UN Convention against Torture. Thus Armenia became the 23 country which has joined to this document.
According to the Protocol Armenia is obliged to establish national preventive mechanisms within one year.
