This year on 18th November Latvia celebrated the 90th anniversary of independence (1918-2009). It was one of the reasons why the last day of October, on the day of Halloween Latvia was presented in CSI office.
On the 23-28th of September 2008 the Amicus Europae Foundation in cooperation with the German Hertie Stiftung organized the Aleksander Kwaśniewski SummerAcademy on European Integration.
From September 26th till October 2nd , 2008, "Civil Society Institute" NGO organized a seminar concerning conflict transformation. The participants were students and graduates of international relations and political science from Armenia and Turkey.
On September 25th, 2008, Civil Society Institute organized a seminar-discussion with Turgut Kerem Tuncel, teaching assistant in Department of International Relations in Istanbul Bilgi University, and pursuing a PhD. degree in Political Science in Ankara University, Faculty of Social Sciences.
The third issue of Im u Ko Terte is published, called "Women and Men". By means of workshops in Ashnak and Noyemberyan we discussed gender issues. Gender is about men and women, not about their biological differences, but about the social responsibilities, behavior and roles ascribed to men and women in a certain culture.
