On April 14th an Iranian Cultural Evening took place in Civil Society Institute. Among the guests was also Mohammad Shakiba the representative of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in Armenia.
From March 17 to March 19, 2009, Civil Society Institute organized three day course on conflict management. The course conducted by Artak Kirakosyan, Head of the Board of CSI. During lessons, which also included non formal educational training, the participants with different educational background learned about the essence of conflict, the stages of conflict escalation, and methods of conflict transformation by Friedrich Glasl’s thesis.
On March 12, 2009, Civil Society Institute organized a meeting with Director of the Civilitas Foundation Salpi Ghazaryan. The meeting was built around the “Armenia in 2008. Crisis and opportunity” report of the Civilitas Foundation and focused on regional issues, including relations of Armenia and Turkey and Nagorno Karabakh conflict, and the affects of global financial and economic crisis on economy of Armenia.
The Third Armenian-Azerbaijani Pubic Peace Forum underpinning the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict took place in Vienna on 24-27 March. The topic of the Forum was: Security: Challenges and Opportunities, and Mechanisms for Building Confidence.
On 14-15 March 2009 Civil Society Development Centre and Civil Society Institute organized the Armenian- Turkish NGO Forum in Yerevan, Armenia. The meeting brought together about fourty NGO activists from different thematic areas.
