On May 25th Styopa Safaryan, Head of the Heritage party’s parliamentary faction, conducted meeting with students at CSI. Mr. Safaryan talked about foreign policy of Turkey and Armenian-Turkish protocols. The discussion was held about the interests and the role of the neighboring states and superpowers in the region.
With the invitation of the Civil Society Institute, on May 21th Aris Nalci, the executive editor of Agos newspaper, had meeting with youth to discuss recent political developments on Turkish-Armenian relations and its impact on the Armenian community in Istanbul.
By the invitation from the Civil Society Institute, on May 10th Turkologist Artak Shakaryan met with students from various universities to discuss Armenian-Turkish relations. Mr. Shakaryan had a presentation on Turkey's foreign policy, outlining its main principles and achievements.
On April 19th the screening of "The Circle" by Jafar Panahi was organized in Civil Society Institute office. The film won several international awards, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2000, but it is banned in Iran.
Paris, March 24, 2010 - The preparation of the FIDH 37th Congress and Forum organised by FIDH and its partner organisation CSI in Erevan, Armenia on April 6-10 Forum 2010 continues. More than 250 participants have already confirmed their presence and many other confirmations are expected soon. FIDH, together with CSI, Helsinki Committee of Armenia, the Collaboration for Democracy Centre and the Foundation against Violation of Law published a briefing paper on the administration of justice last Friday.
